The Network of Light was – and is – a network of spiritual power centres across the earth. In her book To Hear The Angels Sing, Dorothy Maclean describes it as follows :
This network was like a communication grid on subtle levels. The ‘stations’, usually manned by a group of spiritually dedicated people, were in most countries. We linked with this network telepathically, always linking the whole together in love.
Peter Caddy, in his autobiography In Perfect Timing says :
The purpose of the Network was to receive energies which were being poured down upon the planet. These were transformed, or stepped down, through a system of triangles from one level of power to another – as electricity in a national grid goes from one generating station to another, then to regional stations, then local sub-stations. The energy in the Network of Light, of course, was spiritual.
Dorothy, Peter, Eileen Caddy and Lena Lamont were introduced to this work by Anne Edwards, whose spiritual names were Naomi and Miriam. Naomi, as she is usually known, was a ‘sensitive’ who met Peter in the Philippines in January 1953. They recognised a deep bond and remained in contact afterwards by mail, often exchanging long letters twice a week.
Naomi visited Peter and the others briefly in late 1962, when they had just moved to Findhorn. She returned in 1965-67, and lived in a caravan on the Findhorn power point (where the Sanctuary now stands). During these years the group meditated daily and nightly to connect with the Network of Light, radiating energy to Stations and receiving messages or ‘transmissions’ from them.
In her autobiography Flight Into Freedom, Eileen explains :
As Peter read out the names of the centres, we tuned into each one to radiate our love or light, depending on what we felt the particular centre needed. When I sent love out, I felt a very gentle ray flowing from my heart to the person or group. When it was light, it was like a powerful beam going out from my forehead, and I would feel it reach its target.
Sometimes I received a vision of the members of these groups. One was a group of business-men in Turkey. I saw them quite clearly dressed in formal suits around a central figure. I had a vision of a group in Holland in some way connected with the Dutch Royal Family, another group in Siberia, and another in South America. I also connected with aborigines in Australia and bushmen in the Kalahari Desert. It seemed to me some centres were as old as time and fully aware of their mission, while others were young and as yet had no idea of what they were to be used for.
Many years later Eileen & Peter had a joyous ‘reunion’ with the group of Turkish business-men, when they finally met up in the physical world (see Flight Into Freedom pages 188-9).
The messages received through Naomi from the Siberian station mentioned by Eileen were later published in A World Within A World : X-7 Reporting (Spearman, 1981, republished by Findhorn Press, 1996).
Naomi’s papers on the Network of Light, and pages of transmissions received by Naomi, Eileen and Dorothy, are held in the Foundation’s archives at the National Library of Scotland.
Below is a list of the stations with which the Findhorn group connected. According to Peter there were 370 such stations on the network. 219 are specified in the archive documents from which this list was made, and all of those are listed here.
Stations on the Network of Light
Each station was known by its codename. Many of the stations indicated as “roving” were those manned by nomadic or indigenous people such as Arabs and African bushmen.
The list is divided into the following sections :
1) Major overlighting Centres or ‘Reservoirs’
These were the major centres, overlighting large areas of the earth.
2) Key Stations or ‘Subsidiaries’, divided into Eastern & Western Hemispheres
These were the next step down on the grid, and each subsidiary overlit several other stations.
3) Stations or ‘Pools’
These were individual stations, many of them forming ‘triangles’.
4) Additional Stations
These were independent stations, or stations referred to in the Network records, but not included in the main structure, for reasons unknown.
5) Additional Magnetic Centres
These are power points on the earth. Many stations already listed in sections 1-4 were located at Magnetic Centres. These are indicated by (MC).
6) Additional Distributors
These were distributing stations on the grid, radiating light to other stations. Many stations already listed in sections 1-5 were Distributors. These are indicated by (D)
