Dee Sunshine was born in Glasgow. He had a traumatising childhood as both parents struggled with difficulties, and as the oldest of three he bore the brunt.
When he was 19 his mother took him to see the Highland Seer Swein Macdonald in Ardgay who left a lasting impression. He told Dee several things, many of which came true, including that he would travel a lot. With this experience Dee started to become interested in spirituality.
Aged 30 he came to the Findhorn Foundation to do Experience Week. Thereafter he went to India which had a big impact on him.
Upon his return he completed art school but felt it was all too superficial. On a trip to Iona he had a powerful experiencing hearing a voice that said ‘healer heal thyself’. Following that he indeed had an amazing self-healing experience and started to practise spiritual healing and meditation.
After 11 years with a long-term partner and mother of his daughter he felt that he had to leave that relationship. This breakup led to a profound crisis and eventually he went back to India and from there undertook a journey of healing through yoga and meditation for six months.
He came to live at the Park Ecovillage Findhorn in 2021, worked hard on the eco-conversion of an old caravan for a year and is now engaging more with the Community.
To his shock he was diagnosed with a serious heart condition which has reinforced his commitment to his self-healing journey.
