On the occasion of Black Friday 2023 we offer this thought-provoking talk from 2017. It is as relevant as ever. I explore how we have moved into an age of ‘More” with an infinite choice of everything, including varieties of tea. Let’s reflect on the need to ask a simple question, ‘What do I want?’, to move beyond the self as consumer towards wanting a deeper connection with life. We are invited to pour a cup of tea and think about, ‘What is it like to be me when I don’t want anything?’, and as Rumi said, ‘to rest from wanting’. And to find ourselves connected again with the abundance of everything that is.
