John, also known as Pasha, talks with Callum, his former housemate, and Alex. With lots of good humour, the conversation is far ranging, giving a young person’s critique of the state of the world and also of this Community.

In March 2022 a post in the Findhorn Foundation allowed him to come to live here and bring his gifts and passion as a filmmaker. Now with post-Brexit visa challenges and the many changes in the Foundation, he is finding it more difficult to create a way to be sustainable here and is preparing to leave – for now.

He has visited many alternative eco communities and native communities around the world and relates these different experiences of living in harmony with the natural world, as well as his time protecting the environment at the Standing Rock protests.

This is a refreshing young person’s view of our Community:

  • with ‘so many old people’
  • a fabulous underused ‘hippy hotel’
  • so much unfulfilled potential
  • the confusion between the Findhorn Foundation and the Community which ‘looks as one from the outside’
  • the challenge of walking our talk more on all levels: eco, social and spiritual

and so much more.
