I was born in the Australian outback, and as so many young Australians travelled to the UK in the 1960s. I was diagnosed with cancer, the treatment offered seemed to me such a bad option. So I took myself off to a Buddhist Centre for 3 years where I met Peter Caddy. I came to Findhorn in 1968 and have been here since.
The Community has been, and still is, a centre of spiritual enquiry, in all sorts of different ways.
I have built the barrel house for my family. It grew organically as needs changed. Throughout I used recycled materials which I upgraded. It is surrounded by my permaculture garden where I grow my food.
I am very concerned about the future but do all I can to stay positive, to play with ideas how humans could live, to see the beauty in everything. This is my work for the future, to support ways in which we can achieve “fair share”, where humans can live more lightly. There is a lot to do in a short amount of time and I am dedicating my life to a positive outcome.
Thank you to Milan Nechvátal for creating this video and posting it in February 2022.

Along with the founders, I rate Craig as one of my greatest Findhorn sources of inspiration. And I’ll always remember him saying in my first weeks within the community, “If it’s not fun, it’s not sustainable.” He remains fun to be around.
