In this video Dræyk Hørn shares with us a walk through Cullerne Garden at the Findhorn Foundation in September 2020.

“I explored the big, healthy cabbages, lots of lettuce and my absolute favourite, rocket. Seriously, it’s tough, delicious, and so easy to re-sow—a must-grow vegetable!

Next, I admired the beautiful structure of the runner beans, which are every bit as aesthetically pleasing as ornamental plants. The rows are mulched with straw, which reflects light and provides a beautiful contrast to the lush green plants. This emphasis on garden structure and aesthetics is really important.

I passed a transition area with kale and squash, noting the mildew on the courgettes, and checked out some new beds with gorgeous, dark soil. It’s impressive to see this all thriving on what was once sand.

Finally, I looked at the covered winter salads and an area intentionally left to grow wild with clover and wildflowers, which is a great way to let the soil rest and replenish its nitrogen. Sometimes, the best thing you can do for a garden is let it be.”
