About Judy Da Silva

I came to my vocation, Steiner teaching at 42. Married, we fostered and loved two little Scottish boys (now 38 and 40!) who we still see. Lived Switzerland,Germany, France, Canada. Loved it all!

Areas of involvement with the Findhorn Foundation Community: While working at the Steiner School as Class Teacher, ran evening reading groups to provide parents with the background re physical&spiritual grounds and effects of this education on their children. My spiritual practice is Esoteric Christianity. I also practised for a number of years, the Buddha meditation called Vipassana. After retiring from teaching I volunteered in several departments of the Findhorn Foundation, including the Wednesday Cooking Group in the Community Centre. Swimming in the sea almost every day, cycling, walking, painting, singing in choirs, recorder groups, meditation, study groups. Wood carving, sculpture, art therapy. Vipassana meditation. .

Experience in the community affected your work in the world: The Findhorn Foundation opened my eyes to the very positive effects of community living; the support I received while teaching was unexpected and deeply moving; the importance and effects of meditation became clear and while in Canada, my experiences opened the way to many people I would otherwise have not encountered. Community work became an obvious way to live.it expanded my awareness in too many ways to list here and
