he Community History Project is part of the Year of Celebrations – 60 years of spiritual community at  Findhorn in 2022. The organisation of the project is held in partnership between the Findhorn  Foundation and the NFA (New Findhorn Association, our community association).

We envision a very individual, comprehensive, inclusive storytelling that covers all the aspects of our  Community over the 60 years: a ‘collective autobiography’, a people’s history, experiences of building  the many different elements of our Community (‘successes’ and ‘failures’/learnings) over the decades.

We realise that the time is NOW to collect these stories as many of the community members are  getting older, some have already died, and we are probably the last people who can tell these stories  first-hand or at least posthumously by someone who knew the person.

The storytelling will be on an interactive website where we share our stories with the world inviting  everyone to partake in the journey of our Community and gather with us ‘around the fireside’ to hear  the stories. There will also be a private Members Area for more intimate sharings, discussions and  envisioning the future. This will allow our Community History to stay alive, as it will be added to by  future generations to come. It will also become a resource for anyone interested in this Centre of Light,  and contribute to a global envisioning of a ‘better world’ from the people’s perspective.

We are still in the development stage of the whole project and it is evolving fast. We  are presently raising the funds to develop the dedicated website, when things will become a lot more  accessible and engaging. For now, we invite you to become part of the emerging.

You can do that by starting to tell your stories – we welcome written stories, as well as audio and  videos. We have three different styles of stories:

People – tell the individual journey through membership in the Findhorn Foundation  Community and beyond.

Community – anecdotes that highlight specific events, encounters, insights that illustrate our Community culture and the building blocks that make up the many different elements of our Community (from buildings  and places, to organisations, activities etc).

In the World – the impact community members have in the world, shaped by their experiences in the Community.
