In the Community History team we are very aware of the issue of our Community Name. Using the name Findhorn always requires some qualification to respect the fact that it is the name of the neighbouring village.

We are so grateful that once again in a blessed synchronicity, the whole community is addressing the issue to hopefully resolve it and heal the fractures around it. The Collaboration Circle (ColCi) is bringing the question to our next community meeting. In preparation of that, Gordon McAlpine, one of the facilitators has written an excellent summary for the Rainbow Bridge, our weekly Community Newsletter.

20 years ago the Community visited the question when the NFA (our Community Association) designed the sign to the entrance of The Park. We embarked on an interesting process which even made it into a Channel 4 documentary, The Haven in 2004.

Resting assured in the optimism that the sign would be reviewed and renewed after a couple of years or so we in the end settled on Findhorn Foundation and Community.

The sign still stands proudly at the entrance to The Park today – 18 years later. And the conversation has as much juice as ever….
