Half way points – this is week’s topic has been inspired by the Findhorn Foundation sharing a slideshow for it’s 50th Anniversary on Monday 9th May, which was made around the late 80s, early 90s.

The Community was about 30 years old, so at the half-way point to the 60th Anniversary.
In many ways it demonstrates how the Past and the Future met in that particular Present. Many elements which now make up the vibrant community had left just the Foundation or were on the verge of doing so.
For many community members who were here in the 1970s the Community today looks much more like the Foundation they remember than the Findhorn Foundation of today. So many changes – so many times of restructuring … Eileen Caddy always encouraged us to embrace change, as it is the only constant. This is some comfort in a time when we yet again see so many changes.
Is this another Half way point? What can we glimpse of the future as we prepare for a presence in the world that takes a more appropriate shape in the post-pandemic world where the climate emergency is so urgent and peace has become so precious and fragile.
The Half-way point theme resonates also with our 60th Anniversary project – Celebrating One Incredible Family. It is now 6 months until the 17th November – our 60th Birthday!
The first few events of the Year of Celebrations are behind us and others are getting planned and prepared. With some excitement we are awaiting the film made about the Red Ball Play in February which will enable us to share with you this very topical and for many deeply moving event. More about that hopefully next week!
The Birthday Festival in November is taking shape and we are starting to receive bookings from members coming ‘home’ to celebrate with the Community of today.
