Sanctuary focaliser and long-term resident, Angus Marland, brings us news of ongoing meditations taking place within the community with a warm invitation for you to join us on the inner from wherever you are on the planet for the benefit of all beings.

The Sanctuary Group is strong, with a number of initiatives which complement our daily 6.30 – 7.30 am, 8.35 – 8.55 am and 5.40 – 6.00 pm meditations in The Park and at Cluny Hill. We hold quarterly joint sanctuary group meditations and sharings which bring together people who lead these meditations at Cluny and at The Park, so that we can sit together in the silence and experience the essence at the heart of our work. This helps to inspire the way the daily meditations are held. We do not have a set formula, but rather use a few inspirational words, either from a book or as they arise within us.

Quarterly Common Practice Meditations

Wc also have quarterly ‘Common Practice’ meditations. This enables people, who meditate together in small groups with a particular focus, for example a Buddhist group, the Christ Consciousness group, TM and others, to also meditate together in the Sanctuary and experience the spiritual unity that underpins and motivates our work together.

Opening Doors Within

Starting last December. and taking place eight times a year, we arc offering a meditation programme lasting a week called Opening Doors Within. This simply involves attending all three community meditations every day for a week. Its name received Eileen’s blessing ,when we discussed it with her a year ago, and its purpose is to give people the opportunity to connect deeply with the spiritual heart of the community whilst being able to continue with their normal daily working life.

Gaiafield Web-based Meditations

We have started a series of occasional meditations with the GaiaField Project in which participants at Findhorn, Auroville, California Institute for Integral Studies and the UN University of Peace in Costa Rica are linked up through the internet with live audio and video connections. These meditations are also broadcast over the web to people around the world who log on to the Gaiafield.net website. We have done two meditations so far and more are planned.

Early Morning Meditations in the Hall

Our most recent initiative is to carry out the 6.30 am meditation in the Universal Hall as well as in Cluny Hill and the main Sanctuary. As a result, all three of the community’s principal power points are consciously attuned every day through an hour of silent meditation. It is hard to describe the lightness and potency of doing this in the Hall, but it is wonderful, and it does feel like the beginning of a new cycle for our Centre of Light.
