I am an independent choreographer, performer, and Creative Director of Dance North Scotland. In this interview with Alex and Callum I talk about my journey from life as anarchist activist in my mid-twenties, through ill health and a path to alternative healing and spirituality, to discovering dance at Findhorn.

In the late 80s I came to live in the Community in my mid 20s, hitchhiking up from London with 2 big tool boxes. Whilst working as a carpenter I took dance classes and a Mastery Workshop propelled me into studying dance as a ‘mature’ student. Already a dad, I graduated from Middlesex University in 1995 and started life as a professional dancer and choreographer.

After returning back to the Park Ecovillage with my family in 2000, we built a straw bale house and co-founded Bodysurf Scotland, later renamed Dance North, which now celebrates its 20th birthday as part of the RISE Festival 2023.
