Mo's bungalowMo’s Bungalow

Mo bought a bungalow on the Findhorn Bay Caravan Park and opened her home to many guests over the years. She ran a hostel-style B&B and practised an open-door culture. The key was in the lock on the outside of the front door next to a sign saying:

“If you find anything of value here, let me know!”

An active member in the Community

Mo contributed to the Community in many ways. She was part of creating the community association, championed the Welcome Centre, and was an active member of the Alanna group. She also worked on several conference teams.

Mo’s motto was to live life to the fullest.

The cartoon on the right was part of the slideshow presented during her Celebration of Life in the Universal Hall.

Despite limited mobility and later on with severe health challenges, Mo excuded a joie de vivre which was contagious.

In her inimical, humorous and irreverent way she promoted ‘MAST therapy’ (meat, alcohol, sugar, tobacco) thus creating a sense of ease and acceptance in folk that struggled at times with the more ‘rarified aspirations’ of the spiritual community.

Mo’s daughter Sally writes: “I’ve come into possession of all of mum’s diaries and have gradually been reading through them: here are some good Mo dittos!

  • Speak when inspired and shut up when you’re not.
  • FEAR= false evidence appearing real or f**k everything and run!
  • Unless I can feel, I cannot heal.

Conscious living conscious dying was something she really believed in but how conscious she was at the end I don’t know; very sad. But perhaps it was okay, as we can see on Mum’s final testament which she signed in hospital in front of us as Trust Willett!!

She was an amazing lady and a very unusual mother but her and I were lucky enough to have become best friends which doesn’t happen in every mother daughter relationship.

All my love Sally

Mo was a good and loyal friend to many.

Taking her Passport to Heaven workshop to Australia with Barbara and meeting up with Ian and Nettie, and Georgette and Patrick.

A free spirit and adventurer throughout her life
