I wrote this poem for the Taize service in the Universal Hall on Easter Sunday 2025.

***

Just when I thought
I’d lost you forever,

You spoke my name, softly.
“Mary,” you said,”Mary”.

Ah, my Beloved,
I could not hold your body
but You held my heart,
You held my heart
and healed my soul,
loving me so deeply,
so completely
I can never lose You.

Your love, stronger than death,
gave me new life,
gives life to all,
the sacred breath
breathing us now,
healing us into wholeness,
lifting us into Life Eternal,
lifting us into Love.

Ah, my Beloved…
