Kolbjørn Borseth, 69, of Soo, Spain, (formerly of Findhorn Scotland and Selbu Norway) passed away on May 05, 2022 in Arrecife after a couple of spells in hospital due to various issues such as COVID19, pneumonia, and then septic shock but ultimately he succumbed to multiple organ failure due to cirrhosis of the liver and liver cancer. (He was a great fighter who beat 2 different types of lymphomas in 2013 but was a pacifist at the same time).

Kolbjørn was born on the 17th of July 1952 to Tomas and Anna Borseth in Trondheim Norway.
After graduating from high school he went on to study French cuisine In Trondheim, before embarking on a career as a chef in the merchant navy for a number of years. He met Helena in 1983 at Fosen folk high school in Norway whilst working there as a chef and a Drama substitute teacher and they married in 1989, going on to have 4 children , Jon Benjamin, Tomas Daniel, Björn Mikael and Helena Veronica.

Kolbjørn was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. Although that wasn’t always easy and he made them move between Sweden and Scotland a couple of times due to his health and the company he started in Sweden; Föllinge Hälsoprodukter.

After having moved to Scotland he started his second company; Aromantic Ltd which is still run within the family to this day.

His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned although he wasn’t always the easiest father to have. He was unendingly proud of his children and Helena and always tried his best to support them.

Kolbjørn was also passionate about picking cloudberries and mushrooms, and could often be found in the woods or in the hills foraging for them when he wasn’t at home or just out speaking to people which was one of his favorite past-times. He would purposefully seek out conversations with people all the time, often to the embarrassment of his children. Sometimes when he wasn’t lost, he would pretend to be just so he could stop and talk to people under false pretences.

Anyone who knew Kolbjørn knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for, (although not always the easiest to deal with). He and Helena agreed to divorce amicably around 2017 when they realised they felt they had accomplished their goals together in raising their children but they still remained firm friends and parents to their then adult children and grandparents to Emilia their only grandchild to date. He is survived by his children and grandchild.

If you wish to donate to a cause in Kolbjørn’s name, then please donate to Trees for Life. We have set up a grove in his memory as he was such a lover of Nature and they will then plant trees in his grove in Scotland ( https://treesforlife.org.uk/). This is a cause that was close to his heart or any Charity for Environmental purposes or the promotion of Peace on Earth.
