We are known as Fire-Keepers. Our group goes by the name of the Findhorn Fire Circle. Our intention is to hold space with the element of Fire so that a field of healing and unity emerges. People often experience a process of purification and transformation while sitting with the fire and other people. We hold a weekly Fire Ritual for the community residents and visitors.

Our Story
The Fire Rituals in Findhorn emerged after the twin fires here in spring of 2021. We felt a need for sitting together in sacred space. The Fire as a living, intelligent element helps us to connect with our hearts and with our source.

We listen to one another and usually a unified field arises that helps the participants to cohere with the source of life.

Over time a group of Firekeepers have emerged to hold space for the ritual and the participants.

Our Intentions
Holding space for a unified field to appear to heal our personal and collective stories. Connecting with the love and wisdom of our ancestors, while tending the Fire for our children to have fair and free lives. Tending the fire for the Ecovillage Findhorn Community to rebuild our Sanctuaries, our Community Centres, while helping the birth of the new Ecovillage Findhorn Community and raising our members.

Who is a Firekeeper?
The role of the fire-keeper is for those who maintain a steady and respectful relationship with the element of Fire, and are able to hold space for the people so that their true voices and colours would shine through. As firekeepers we learn how to make a good roaring fire. We also learn about holding space for stories, for different voices to speak. Ultimately we learn about listening to the Fire, to the elements, to the voices of the ancestors and the children, to earth and to the stars, so that we could take our next steps in harmony with the will of the universe.

We have a wonderful group of past and present fire-keepers as well as Global Firekeepers who are inspired by the Findhorn Fire Circle. They hold rhythmical Fire Rituals with their own communities with the same intentions to heal and cohere in a unified field.

To maintain our Fire Rituals we hold a Fire Circle from time to time. The Fire Circle is made up of the Firekeepers. New Firekeepers are invited to join the Circle or the Council. The retiring Firekeepers are thanked and tuned out. The Fire Circle is held in the way of the Council. That is why the words Circle
and Council are synonymous.

The Fire Circle considers any rising matters concerning the ritual within the field of our community and our world. It makes decisions that are binding for the Circle. The Fire Circle renews itself with new members. Its responsibility is to keep the Fire Ritual alive for the attendees, benefiting from the medicine of a well held Fire.

The Earth Lodge
Our ritual space is the Earth Lodge which is nestled in St. Barbe’s Wood behind the barrel houses. This underground sanctuary holds us and the Fire Ritual beautifully.
