There are so many ways that you can get involved with our collective autobiography! From one-off projects (large and small) to an ongoing commitment – and everything in between. As we work online you can join in from anywhere in the world!

Our Wishlist for the Samhain Newsletter:

  • Catalogue photos – many of the historical images and also the present day photos are crying out to be catalogued so that they can be made accessible.
  • Join our Editorial Team, we’d love to have more eagle-eyes helping to catch typos and other gremlins. We adore RED INK and any suggestions for improvements. This can be done from anywhere, at anytime. 
  • Website team member – our website team would love support from a skilled volunteer to help us to continue to improve the website – Anywhere

Our standing list of the many ways to be involved:

One-off projects 

  • Interview a friend and help them submit their story – in writing as interview (audio or video) IN PERSON or ONLINE anywhere.
  • Topics – research and write a Topic that makes your heart sing. Topics are Reader’s Digest of essential aspects of our Community – we’d love to cover the whole range! ONLINE – anywhere.
    For example:

    • Sanctuaries
    • Families and Youth in Community
    • Sacred Dance
    • Cooperation with Nature
    • Community charities
    • Neighbourhoods in the residential Community (then and now)
    • Community buildings and houses (then and now)
    • Arts
    • Community music and musicians through the decades
    • Spiritual practices
    • the list is endless really – listen within, follow your heart and get in touch!!!
  • Images – we have thousands of images which tell the story of our Community in ways words never can. We’d love them to be catalogued to start with. Specific selections can also be turned into slideshows to tell the story of one aspect or event – there is no end to creative potential working with these treasures.
  • Videos
    • Findhorn Foundation YouTube videos – we made a good start on this earlier but there are still many more videos to be added that are relevant for our collective autobiography. Embedding them in the web of our stories will also add value to them as well as they can be seen in a wider context.
    • creating posts hyperlinking to other relevant videos. We already have about 100 posts with videos – but there are so many more out there. ONLINE – anywhere
  • Essential documents from the Online Archive to be transferred into posts. ONLINE – anywhere
  • Create a World MapONLINE – anywhere – to show visually
    • Where Community members now live all around the globe
    • Organisations, projects etc related to the Community all around the world

Ongoing Commitments – IN PERSON at Findhorn

  • COIF Nights in the Universal Hall – we would love to invite the residential Community to come together in the Hall, perhaps every other week, to watch one of the fabulous films relating to the Community’s history, and bring the history alive for those who are here now to help make a rich compost for future unfoldments.
  • Accessibility – we want our website to be as accessible as possible. We have the precious offer of a member, Roy, with visual impairment to improve our website. Roy need someone to sit with him to help him discover what he doesn’t see on the website.
