In 2017 Ralph White from the Open Centre in New York organised a Western Mysteries Conference. The group travelled to Iona and other Hebridean islands. He then brought them to the Findhorn Foundation to see a spiritual community in action.

This talk by Dennis Evenson gives the background to the formation of the Community and its esoteric roots.

Ralph and Dennis Evenson were members of the community in the mid 1970s. Ralph left to work in the Omega Institute prior to opening the New York Open Centre. Dennis, ‘the man in the hat’, is an authority on the Western Tradition and Rudolf Steiner. He has worked closely with the Anthroposophists in the US including arranging a curriculum for the Waldorf schools.
