2 beautiful huge murals grace the back walls in the auditorium of the Universal Hall. They create a unique holding for the great variety of events in this space.

They were a gift by Haydn Stubbing who dedicated them to Aileen and captain Ross Stewart. He worked on them between 1977 and 1982 during visits to Findhorn.

The Findhorn Murals
By Newton Haydn Stubbing 1921 – 1983
Dedicated by the artist to Aileen and Captain Ross Stewart

The murals were painted for the Universal Hall from 1977 to 1982. The most turbulent “Lindisfarne Greens” represents the energies and undercurrents of the Findhorn River with its peat-stained reds and swirling waters. The second work was named “Toward an Iona Blue” since it faces the Isle of Iona and completes the sacred triangle with Glastonbury and Lindisfarne.
