FINDHORN FOUNDATION COLLEGE
Findhorn Foundation College was created as an independent not-for-profit company in 2001 to expand the Foundation’s educational activities into higher and further education.
Throughout our three programme streams, we integrate the academically rigorous with the practical and experiential, the reflective, and the interpersonal. We don’t have the resources to deliver full degree programmes, so we collaborate with institutions who realise the learning value of community-based residential experiences.
Within the accredited education stream, we run MSc modules for Scottish universities; a semester on sustainability for US undergraduates sent to us through Living Routes, our partner organisation in the US founded by Daniel Greenberg, a Findhorn Fellow; and we also host a short course led by the Biomimicry Institute.
The stream of field study visits on resilience and sustainability in community life are usually for Masters students. The community and the ecovillage projects at Findhorn provide interrelated environmental and cultural approaches and practices to help achieve a viable ecological footprint.
Our professional trainings are led by present and former community members with recognised expertise in their field. They share their life discoveries and experience in such diverse arenas as peace work, innovation, practically-applied creativity, therapeutic support, English language skills, and even creating community choirs!
