DANCING IN THE GARDEN

In 1971 the original garden was still very much used for our vegetables. They were grown in plain rows; John Hilton was the main gardener at the time. In those days everybody was expected to go to Sanctuary to meditate together in the mornings. I would sometimes skip it and then go to dance in the original garden. That was when Dorothy’s messages from the nature world came alive for me. Each row of vegetables called out a different dance or movement. I moved into their uniqueness and felt an interaction with the life and soul of the plants in a way that continues to inspire and inform both my gardening and the way I live my life.
