In my life I’d like to see Peter as an example
I too would like to found a community
The community of body, mind, spirit and emotions
All working in harmony, for my higher good
Weed out those parts of me that won’t do a decent day’s work
And never want to attend sanctuary
Sending them home on the bus of practicality
Or in the beat-up jalopy of needs must
I want to cultivate the 40lb cabbage of certainty
Without previous gardening experience
Find the cement bags of healing just when I need them
Manifest the greenhouse of good intent
By firmly deciding its proportions in advance
I want to hitch a ride in the sports car of integrity
With the young woman of delight
Accept those sandwiches of truth en route
Manage the big hotel of desires
Serve that drunken chef of resolution
An extra whisky of forgiveness
I’d like to ruthlessly cut down
The wild garden of materialism
I’d like to be an intuitive leader
A move, a shaker, a positive thinker
A no-doubt doer
And then I’d like to obediently be
Preferably in Maui
I’d like to write that autobiography
In perfect timing before my death
I’d like to dress for the dinner of the afterlife
Drink deep of a good karma sherry
And enjoy the fun night of the soul
