Happy Winter Solstice! Today we celebrate with two gifts!

First, we have this beautiful poem written by Community poet Margot…

Solstice Spiral I

And so we come
as the spiral turns
the long night has begun
And so we come
like those ancestors
who gathered at the Ness of Brodgar
and the Clava Cairns
to await the sun’s return
And so we come
to enter into that deep night
bowing in the darkness
that we may see the light
honoring the endless
birth and death in all of life
We walk the path, the sacred round
this space becoming holy ground
We watch and wait
through these still nights
we pray and meditate
on the returning light.
