THE GREATEST GIFT
Findhorn came to my life in a very special way. I was 21 and studying Rudolf Steiner’s pedagogy in France. I fell in love, but it was not returned and I thought it was the end of the world. A compassionate friend listened and then told me Eileen Caddy’s story. It calmed my aching heart.
A year later during a theatre training in Montenegro, we were invited for lunch by a radiant woman called Maruska, who had just came back from Findhorn. She was beaming love and joy. I just loved being in her presence. She gave me a brochure with Findhorn programmes and I knew immediately I was to go there. I chose Essence of the Arts led by Bruno and Christiane Rossi. I wanted to stay in Findhorn for a few months, to really feel what it is like to live there. I had very little money, so I wrote an email asking for help in getting a work permit. To my great surprise and joy, I was given a full bursary. One of the greatest gifts of my life.
And the other great gift Findhorn has brought me? My life partner Pierre. We met during the Essence of the Arts programme. He was working in the SEVA programme, in the children’s department. We left Findhorn at the end of January 2001 to visit Iona and married the next year, and are still committed to a beautiful partnership full of love and respect. We meditate every morning, we attune while working, we support each other in our creative paths, and we are committed to creating a better world.
With every pain we experience there is the potential for deep love and connection with God. Even our darkest moments are filled with signs. Thank you Findhorn.
