“I have signed up in this lifetime to a vow of abundance, and that’s the mindset that I teach.”

To understand what I am doing now, you have to understand my DNA. I am the daughter of Polish refugees who came to this country with nothing – no furniture, no family, just white walls. My first memory is pulling myself up onto a plastic stool in a bare room and feeling the sun hit my face. In that moment, I felt prosperous. Not because of money, but because I felt safe and full of potential.

That is exactly how I feel about Ecovillage Findhorn. Despite the “quadruple shock” we’ve endured—Brexit, the redundancies from COVID, the arson fires that took our Sanctuary and Community Centre, and the closing of the Findhorn Foundation—I see an explosion of light here.

The Vision: Phoenix Rising

I am creating “Phoenix Rising,” a series of five films and conferences, focusing on the five strands of our curriculum:

  • Economy
  • Ecology
  • Artistic Creativity
  • Spiritual Education
  • Synthesis

Magic and Synchronicity
The way this is coming together is pure magic. I’ve partnered with the new owners of the Cluny Hotel, a wonderful Syrian family. In a beautiful twist of fate, their four-year-old daughter is named Eileen—an Arabic name meaning “rivers of rain,” but also the name of our founder, Eileen Caddy. We are using the Cluny Hotel as a “satellite” hub for accommodation during the conferences with the intention of  breathing life back into the Community.

I used to be a shy, introverted supply teacher but I have transformed myself into a global ambassador. It is easy to speak when you are talking about what you love, and I love this Community’s capacity to shine its light into the world.
