When God and I Speak
When God and I speak we don’t always see eye to eye
He or she has plans for world peace
I have a plan for a second cup of coffee
He or she is a being of pure light
I am a being with peanut butter stuck in his teeth
He or she is tireless
Me, I’m sometimes tired before I get up
He or she is in everything
Me, I’m in a room 12 by 10
He or she stops at nothing
I stop for tea breaks
Timidly I ask God what his or her plan is for me
The answer comes that I am to find perfection within
To live in harmony with my fellow human beings
and with nature
And to take part in a New Golden Age
It’s at that point I look round to see
If God is really talking to someone else.
