This documentary is a Findhorn Foundation production inspired by the people who participated in the April 2019 Climate Change and Consciousness conference. The one-hour film weaves a touching and often intimate narrative of personal insights and resolutions in the face of inner and outer climate change. Among those featured in the film are Vandana Shiva, Charles Eisenstein, Jonathon Porritt, Xhiutecatl Martinez and Polly Higgins (RIP).
They convey the following message: We must learn to live together, acknowledging that global crises stem from deep-seated trauma, oppression, and fractured relationships. The speakers highlight personal tragedy, and emphasise that viewing others as enemies limits solutions; instead, we need to heal our own “fossil fuel minds” for collective well-being. The destruction of ecosystems and pollution are stark reminders of a mechanical mindset that disregards consciousness.
A crucial cultural shift is needed, moving from extractive practices to a partnership with Earth. This involves heeding indigenous wisdom. In addition, hope, inner work, and reconnecting with sentient nature are vital. The path forward includes embracing renewable energy, sustainable living, and localised economies. Climate change is the defining issue of our time, connecting all aspects of our lives. Ultimately, we must embody the change we wish to see, with young people leading the charge towards a future built on interconnectedness and action.
