HOMESICK

We did Family Experience week in 1980 when I was nine, and a year later my dad (Sandy Barr) asked us if we would like to come and live in Findhorn. We did, and whilst it had its challenges, it was great growing up here. At 19 I felt an urge to get out there and experience the outside world. I was done with holding hands and living in a caravan. From then on, whenever I came back to visit my dad, it didn’t feel like home anymore and there were always new faces.

However, after he had a heart attack and I came back for three weeks in 2006 to support him, I realised how much I had missed it and how homesick I had been. It was then that I decided to move back to the area with my own family.
