I did Experience Week in 1984 and returned in the Autumn to do Orientation to become a member of the Findhorn Foundation.

In my first few weeks here I attended a community meeting in the Universal Hall which has stayed with me all those years.

It was a big meeting, everyone turned out and the Hall was quite full. We were meeting as we had to confront the fact that we needed to find the remainder of the money needed to pay off the loan we had taken out to buy the caravan park.

The manifestation efforts had been very much in the centre of the community’s activities throughout the year. Everyone had done whatever they could to raise the funds needed. And still there was a certain amount missing.

I remember Richard Coates getting up and putting his allowance in the middle of the floor. More and more people went down and contributed whatever they could. One person even added a substantial cheque.

In the end, when it all was counted, it turned out to be the exact amount which we needed, and IT WAS DONE!

What a tremendous feeling of achievement and connection.
