The Community did it! We are thrilled to announce the final purchase of Parts 1 and 2 of the Ecovillage Findhorn land and assets! As of 16:55 on Monday, 18th November 2024, we—the community, through the Ecovillage Findhorn Community Benefit Society—became the proud owners of:

Part 1: Guest Lodge, YP, Bunkhouse, Village Green, Solum (FoD Green), Phoenix shop building, mobile-home land, long-let caravans, bungalows, and yurt.

Part 2: Universal Hall, Biomass boiler, Skylab (formerly Big Sky), laundry, and the associated land.

This milestone was made possible through the dedication of a small, hard-working board, for over a year, and the collective effort of our large and passionate community, not least the investors of over £400,000 in our 5% community bond or from loans and gifts. Together, we have achieved what many thought impossible, and we are proud to step forward as stewards of this land.

To mark this momentous occasion, a spiritual blessing and transfer ceremony was held, FF to EF, by Katherine Collis in the Universal Hall Sanctuary, on December 1st, to tune FF Trustees out of and EF Directors into the “column of light”—the spiritual alignment that unites us all.

We want to extend heartfelt gratitude to Mark Anderson and the FF Trustees, as well as Terry Gilbey, with whom Rupert worked very closely last winter to bring this vision to life. Their collaboration helped establish that it is time for the community to own and run itself—an approach that benefits all parts of our collective, including the new FF SCIO. Together, we are working toward the most positive global impact possible.

While we celebrate, the journey continues. There is much work ahead as we steward the land we now collectively own and focus on the eventual purchase of Part 3.
