Architect George Ripley and Lyle Schnadt talk about the building of the Universal Hall in the Findhorn Foundation Community. The audio is from a lecture recorded in 2002 with slides from the time of building the Hall.
The Universal Hall was built as a labour of love by thousands of people (visitors and those living at the Findhorn Foundation Community) over a period of ten years from 1974 to 1984. Its essential shape is that of a pentagon and at the heart is an auditorium seating up to 400. The building has been used for music, drama, dance and mixed media shows and the famous Findhorn Foundation conferences over many years of its existence. We hope you enjoy this fascinating insight into the building of an iconic building.
