About Adriana Sjan Bijman

Born on a farm in the Netherlands. Artist, photographer, graphic designer and passionate activist. Travelled & worked in several countries before joining the community.

Came to the Findhorn Foundation Community: 1998
Left the Findhorn Foundation Community: passed away here in 2017
Areas of involvement with the Findhorn Foundation Community: Cullerne gardener, Visuals department, holding guest weeks, incl. LBGT+ programmes, photographic artist, chronicler, blogger; holding meditations; lived in Bag End, later moved to Forres and had an office.
Community leadership: Cullerne Flower production, focaliser of Visuals (2000), LGBT group Park contact Initiator, editor and main photographer for the 50th Birthday Book of the community. In March 2006 Adriana created 'Adriana Sjan Bijman PhotoArt', a graphic design and card business since 2006 till she passed away. She ran this business from her office next to Ecologia for a number of years.
List of publications: 1977-1987 co-producing the 'Haarlemse Vrouwenkrant' (magazine for women) submitting text, photos and doing lay-out. 1988 'Wilde Haren; de Haarlemse vrouwenbeweging 1977-1987' ISBN 90 6076 2797 1990 'De Akkerbouwacties in het voorjaar van 1990' with Marianne Vogelaar. 1998 'In Kiel-Windeweer bladert de wind door de tijd' ISBN 90-9011605-2 2005 'Gifts from the Findhorn Gardens' with Margot Henderson. ISBN 1-84409-018-3 2008 Contributed photographs for the updated Findhorn Garden Story Book as well as for a number of publications in the Netherlands 2018 (posthumous) 'Light Scribbles from a Nomad Heart'. ISBN 978-1-78926-066-3 Numerous cards, notebooks, etc through 'Adriana Sjan Bijman PhotoArt' sold locally through the Phoenix shop, Cluny and some other places in Scotland.
