Welcome!
We are so pleased and appreciative of John Byrne and the lenders for enabling us to feature this retrospective of John’s work for the opening of our new gallery space; demonstrating our position as the the first and only exhibition space in Moray with the facilities to meet the international standards for borrowing important works of art from major museums and galleries.
We also thank John for being a great support in the years running up to our final momentous decision to go ahead and build the centre, a white-knuckled moment indeed!
I dreamt, 10 years ago, of a place that would be a research centre for beauty. I dreamt of an incubation space for the arts, a place of sharing and debating ideas, a community of creativity; in fact, nothing less than the birthplace of the next Golden Age – the next Athens, the next Florence! This Golden Age will happen in a place in which everyone can come to know the sensation of beauty for themselves, sensing it physically, establishing one’s inner-authority of what beauty truly is for oneself and questioning one’s own criteria.
Our vision is of a beauty that exhilarates and uplifts, becoming an ‘antidepressant’ for the Western World.

I grew up in NYC, moved here in 1992 after a voice told me to come here, and never left.
