This film is of significance for our collective autobiography not only because of the succinct description Andre gives about his visit, but also because of the impact it had on its viewers. When asked the question “What brought you to Findhorn?”, My Dinner with Andre is one of the many answers that people give.

In this film from 1981 Andre Gregory shares with his colleague Wallace Shaw about his travels. One of the places he visited was Findhorn. In the clip below he recounts his visit, 1 minute in.  At around 1h20min in the full movie he mentions Findhorn again: “What Findhorn was trying to do […] are all attempts at creating a new kind of school or a new kind of monastery and Björnstrand talks about the concept of reserves, islands of safety where history can be remembered and the human being can continue to function in order to maintain the species through a dark age.
