THE UNIVERSAL HALL

Mulling a lecture and discussion
on Findhorn and esoteric questions, one evening
late,
I leave my Guest Group, walk alone
down an unlighted black path.
On impulse I stop, turn around, look back, toward
a looming skeleton of a building under construction
next door.
The Universal Hall they call it,
shaped like a pentagon, though
the significance of its esoteric shape is beyond me.
In the dark I barely make out a mysterious outline
of its open unfinished face.

As if in a dream
I’m startled to see in cave-like gloom within
several men, working feverishly, around a red glow
… a furnace … an anvil … a crucible?
What can they be doing, I ask myself uneasily?
To my mind’s eye come electrifying words:

They are building a bomb,
a bomb that will blow up the world, ignite
an explosion of Light … Love … consciousness
to radiate from this building,
reverberate round the planet
destroying negative energy !

Unnerved now … frightened … I turn,
walk away in disbelief, quick as I can,
then hear the words:
Nothing but the very highest will come of it!

Shaken, not yet open to be convinced,
too apprehensive to slow my pace
I retreat hurriedly through the darkness
knowing deep in my being … it’s true.
