FINDHORN FOUNDATION CONFERENCES
The Foundation has held international conferences since the early 1970s. These usually took place twice a year, at Easter and in October. Additional conferences were often held at other times, as can be seen on the list below.
“Conferences are now a staple. We must have produced at least 75 over the past 35 years. All have served to establish the community not just as a superb venue but as a place whose ongoing life and work inspires those who come here. It seems that Findhorn truly is a place of vision and transformation.”
(from Connecting Findhorn with the World by Roger Doudna, organiser of many conferences in the 1980s and 1990s)
“Conferences [were] being held twice yearly and the impact on the community was striking. This rhythm lifted and informed our daily comings and goings, the theme bubbling underneath at water table level, and the next conference was always something to look forward to.”
(from Feeding Mind, Heart and Soul by Michael Hawkins, conference organiser in the 2000s)
In the last decade the conferences were still very relevant and instrumental in community evolution. They were complemented by special events and the strict twice-yearly rhythm was less apparent.
In 2020 the Covid pandemic put a stop to any such events and in 2022 we are still exploring what the future may bring.
The Living Record gives a list of conferences from 1972-2005 with some amendments til 2019.
