Beltane at Moray Steiner School

Today the Moray Steiner School continues to attract, inspire and be a wonderful community for the parents and teachers of about 75 children. The Steiner curriculum, crafted by each teacher to best serve the class at the time, is more relevant than ever. Through igniting the child’s imagination with story, verse, song — in literacy, maths or science — the child’s will is directed toward those activities and thoughts that are beneficial for all.

This world that our children are growing up in will bring them challenging questions about the environment, pollution and climate change. I see that the Waldorf approach is to affirm their deep connection to nature as a spiritual part of their soul. They are a part of it; it is a part of them. I see these young people emerging from this unique way of education as wonderful future caretakers of the planet, not because of fear or a desperate need to address the issues of our time, but as a natural outpouring of a soul taught how to care, stay connected and in tune with the natural world.
